Welcome to the website for the NJHS Information and Communications Technology (ICT) classes. Even though the 2017-2018 school year is my 20th year at Nettleton and my 35th year of teaching, I am still learning new things every day. My goal for this year is to keep learning from my students and help them to learn skills that they will be able to use in other classes and throughout life.
This course is the culmination of skills mastered beginning in the 5th grade, while adding database and electronic presentation skills. The minimum required amount of time to teach this course is sixty clock hours or one semester.
The purpose of this course is to meet the technology requirements outlined in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) adopted by Arkansas. This course is designed to be taught in a computer lab or mobile lab setting. The units taught include word processing (business letters, flyers, newsletters, brochures, etc.), spreadsheets, presentations, and data bases. Microsoft Office software will be used for most activities. The complete pacing guide with frameworks is available for download at the right.
I am looking forward to a great year. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me.
